Coil hooks are relatively inexpensive load-lifting devices for transporting coils. In many companies, this is still done using ropes and belts. When transporting material with coil hooks, the material does not become damaged as quickly and occupational safety for employees is also increased. WIMO® coil hooks are high-quality products that are also designed for use in heavy-duty applications. Thanks to the rounded support strips, the coils are mounted and transported with extreme care. This saves money by preventing material damage. As the load centre is labelled, it is easier for the operator to mount the coil precisely at this point. In contrast to coil hooks from many other providers, the counterweight for WIMO® coil hooks is attached and welded to the hook block in a saddle shape – a very safe solution. The notch effect provides additional safety: The internal radii of WIMO® coil hooks are ground without notches. Handles make it easier for the operator to mount the coils. As they are screwed in place, they are quick to replace. WIMO® also supplies coil hooks with a patented adjustable prong pad for efficient separating of slit strips without accidents.

Coil hook with particulary small prong cross-section
Coil hook for handling at the turnstile: The tight space conditions when entering a turnstile or reel make a special coil hook necessary. The coil hook is specially made for the dimensions of your turnstile/reel. To compensate for the small tine cross-section, the hook plate may be made of a special material.

Coil hook (with suspension adapter) on a coil container tong
This coil hook is designed to be picked up by the coil container tongs by means of a suspension adapter. With this coil hook, the coil containers are loaded safely. Without the coil hook, the coil container tongs transport the coil containers to the next process step. This coil hook can be picked up by coil tongs without manual help or attached directly to the crane hook using the central eyelet. Ideal vor frequent changes of the transported goods. Designed for quick and safe attachment without time-consuming changing of the load suspension device.
Example of an application:
Removal of the split strip coil from the truck, transport to the separating block. Separation of the coils using coil hooks with spacers and storage in storage racks. Picking up of the individual coils with the coil tongs (coil hook was efficiently placed in the parking stand) and transport to the next process step.

Spring loaded coil hook suspension

Coil hooks with spring balancing are characterised by a lower dead weight than the variant with counterweight. Another advantage is that the coil hook with spring balancing is a space-saving variant, e.g. when space is limited due to the on-site system technology.
