But even if these are routine transportation tasks, extreme caution is required so that no people are harmed and no goods are damaged. Universal tongs from WIMO Hebetechnik are a particularly safe and convenient transportation solution for these types of goods.
Every WIMO® product is precisely calibrated for the individual application scenario in the relevant company. This also applies to universal tongs from WIMO®. These highly innovative solutions consist of four outer tong arms that are adjustable both longitudinally and laterally. They are also equipped with swivelling support prongs. This makes them ideal for such tasks as transporting palletised coils or for loading and unloading trucks. The two inner tong arms are intended for coil transportation and feature foldable support brackets. The main tong arm drive in the upper housing is operated electromechanically via self-locking leadscrews. This is an especially good idea in harsh conditions with an increased safety risk for people and materials – for example, in situations with poor visibility when loads are picked up and deposited, or when there are multiple layers of coil. The screw drive is protected against jamming by a specially designed system from WIMO Hebetechnik that has been registered for a patent and is protected by a utility model. This means that wear parts such as standstill monitors and slip clutches are no longer necessary, thereby reducing maintenance work significantly.
